Overcoming the Spiritual Warfare

Many of us are going through a period of intense spiritual attack and spiritual warfare.

Sharing this with you that I learned as we seek the LORD to lead us, guide us and strengthen us to overcome.

Can a Christian be possessed by an evil spirit?

The question is first to determine what is a Christian, or who is a Christian?

There are many who call themselves Christians and who are not - for they do not have the Spirit of God in them, they live for, follow and serve another god, and there are many gods of this world, many idols - and they live according to the lusts and desires of the world and of the flesh, idols of fame, pride, positions, power, and lusts of possessions, wealth and pleasures, things of the world and of the flesh. Those people are effective tools the enemy use to do the will of their father of lies and deception, to harm, steal, kill and destroy.  Unfortunately many of them are possessed, some willingly and knowingly and some unknowingly, thinking their religious lives as a "christian" and their good deeds are what qualifies them.

The Word of God makes it very clear.  Those who have the Spirit of God are the sons of God and cannot be possessed by an evil spirit , because they are one with Christ, the Spirit of God is One with them.  However, having the Spirit of God in us is only the first part in our salvation and our journey on earth.  The second part is our transformation and sanctification, to learn to be One with Holy Spirit and walk in Spirit, to flow in the Spirit and work in Spirit, and to be transformed by the Word and the Spirit through the renewal of our mind - that we may become like Jesus, and be as He is, and do as He did - in Him, through Him, for Him, to the glory of the Father.

So, Can a Christian be possessed by an evil spirit?

No, because a Christian is possessed by the Holy Spirit.

A Christian can however be influenced and oppressed by them. As one man said, evil spirits might not be living in your heart, but if you allow them they might as well be living on your shoulder.

Satan cannot get in and take over your life, but he certainly can try to impact your life by the actions of others around you, and influence your mind to give you stress and trouble, tribulations.

Satan, the devil, our opposer, and his minions attack the children of God with fiery darts with poison of lies and deception because we are on his enemy list.

These darts which are lies spoken to us by the enemy through others or circumstances, or demonic influence in our minds - and when the  poison darts hit us, it cause us to become sick and oppressed if we believe the lies and speak them into reality in our lives by aligning ourselves with the lies of the enemy, instead of remaining in the Truth and remaining aligned to the Word of God and will of God, and His ways.

The protection against the fiery darts of the enemy is the shield of faith with which we can quench the fiery darts of the enemy. Take up the full armour of God daily.  Seek the LORD daily and keep your eyes and heart focused and set upon the LORD. It is about your relationship with God, and your heart of love and desire for knowing Him and being with Him.

Walk out your journey with Faith and Trust in the LORD for He is faithful and true, and he is able to fulfill all his promises over us to protect us and provide for us. We walk in His Victory as He has already overcome, and we just need to remain In Him, and join in the procession of praise for the Victory of Jesus Christ.

The antidote to the fiery darts of the enemy, the poison lies and deception of the enemy, is the Blood of Jesus, the Word of God and prayer.

Plead the blood of Jesus over your life daily, over your families lives, and other's lives and do this daily. Declare and Decree the Word of God the Word of Truth with your voice daily. Share your heart in prayer in relationship with God daily, in a communion, union relationship.

The enemy attacks us with witchcraft spels and evil spirits, those are darts of incantations, directed at things that we are weak in - like fear, anxiety, temptation, emotions and thoughts.  These attacks are small and you cannot feel them, but they release infiltration poison into you and over time it can do great damage to you through believing lies and deception and aligning yourself with the enemy, and that open doors to spiritual attack.

The antidote to the poison is pleading the blood of Jesus over you and your family, and speaking the Truth of the Word of God.

And put on the armor of God daily, and take up the shield of faith in God to block the fiery darts of the enemy. And don't forget to put on the full armor of God to stand firm, and as Holy Spirit leads you to take up the Sword of God in the Spirit of God, and go on the offence, move forward as the LORD leads you to take land from the enemy wherever our feet shall tread.

Stay tuned to Holy Spirit within you, and listen to His still small voice guiding you in your heart.  Make no room for the devil in your mind, and cast off any thoughts that is not aligned with God, do not entertain it for even a second. In All things that it to the LORD in prayer, Run to the Lord Jesus, and lay it All at the foot of the cross, bring it All before the LORD, and Be at peace, protected and provided for under the wings of El Shaddai, God Almighty.
